How Calorie Counting Will Shape Our Lives

By: Garen Arnold

Have you ever heard the words 'calorie counting' tossed around in order to achieve weight loss? Think about these aspects prior to losing weight and ultimately calorie counting. Analyze exactly what you have been consuming on a daily routine. Do you have set periods of time when you eat? Do you eat more at dinner, and are you eating a nutritional breakfast?

This is a vital tip, so listen up; you need to chart exactly what you have been eating in order to successfully start losing weight on a calorie counting dieting plan. This can benefit you in two ways, first you establish order to your dieting plan and then secondly, this will allow you to discover how you could make adjustments to improve your diet. It is not an effortless task to start counting calories in order to achieve weight loss, it does take work. With practice you can master it and calorie counting is a critical tool.

Start Your Dieting Journal
The first steps I want you to take is going to Wal-Mart and buying a journal, they are like a nickel (approximately) each; you might want to get a few.

This is a cheap alternative way to start allowing you to get more organized in your calorie counting venture. Simply, chart the calories that you have consumed on a daily schedule. You should be consuming anywhere from 2,000 to 2,400 calories per day.

Do not worry if your number is slightly above the recommended value or below it. Do not make the foolish mistake of consuming 1,000 calories a day and then wondering why you are not losing any additional weight. You are simply sending your body into 'starvation mode.' Everyone starts somewhere so get ready to stat charting.

Drink Water and Avoid Snacks
Now chart your calories and remember to drink access water because this will help to elevate you metabolism. It is good habit to get into, by taking a water bottle everywhere go. Avoid those vending machines at work/school and get ready to get serious about counting calories.

One tip I can give you if you are a vending machine queen/king go to supermarket and buy apples, bananas, oranges, etc. because they are cheaper and have a lot of important nutrients in them that you body needs in order to maintain a healthy weight.

Fast Food?
On problem I commonly see is; people go to fast food joints habitually. By law they have to have a nutritional value sheet that they can give you. If you are concerned about your daily caloric intake I would advise you ask about it. These nutritional value sheets will aid you in making better selection in the case of slipping up at a fast food place. A lot of the times you will find health alternatives.

Fast food is convenient, cheap, and bad for you. Upon, doing some research I found some startling details about these popular fast food joints. McDonalds, Wendys, Sonic, Burger King, Hardees all had hamburgers that consumed over 500 mg of sodium in just one serving. Too much sodium can be dangerous to your body. What is even more shocking is that these foods are all 300 plus calories, per serving. Lets be honest who really just eats one? Are you starting to see how they add up quickly? Over time these 300 plus calorie 'quick fixes' can damage your health. These are high caloric meals and I recommend that you start making healthy decisions.
